“ Good food. I subtract a star because they do not pan fry their meatballs first. I am 100 percent Italian and grew up eating this food. My fondest memories were my grandparents frying up some meatballs on a flat sizzleplate. We always got a meatball before they hit the sauce and that was the best time to get them. Meatballs are very important and meat should always have a nice sear. Their meatballs are good but they are mushy because they were not seared off first. Their chicken cutlets are very fresh tasting and fried very well but they never have salt or any seasoning which is a disappointment. I saw them pull out a fresh roast beef which look really delicious. I wish I tried it. I don't really eat cold cuts because they are all filled with preservatives but these seemed very legit. They are all imported it seems. ”

“ This review is about two months overdue! I visited on 9/13/23, while I was in the area on vacation from Sacramento, CA. I was born in Atlantic City to a family that used to have an Italian restaurant on the boardwalk in the 60's and 70's. My family moved to CA in the 70's, so I have missed eating authentic Italian food like you can only find on the East Coast. After hiking a few miles near Lake Wallenpaupack, I went on Yelp to see if I could find an Italian deli. All of the great reviews sent me to Arthur Avenue Deli. It did not disappoint! I am sure all of you working that day thought I was crazy for the amount of food I ordered. I couldn't help myself. I had a salad and the special that day: Prosciutto and Pear Ravioli. It was heavenly. The salad was fresh and perfect. The bread so soft and chewy at the same time. For dessert I ordered a cannoli, freshly made and filled right in front of me. I also ordered a variety of cookies to take back to the hotel with me. Heaven! Fresh! Delicious. Not too sweet, but the perfect amount of sweet. Thank you for making me feel like I was 7 years old and sitting back in my grandfather's restaurant on the boardwalk in AC. The sounds and smells and tastes of your wonderful place didn't disappoint. I'm sure that my grandfather Anthony Jacoby (rest his soul) would have approved of each and every bite you served I don't know if I'll travel to your corner of the world again, but I'll make sure to tell anyone who does to stop at your place. ”
